Hi all supporters of THE D-MONSTER AFI Directing Workshop for Women short film,
Today Thursday June 25 the set build began. We had lots of help from our very international PA’s, it was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. Nadia and Susanna dressed fashionably for the occasion in their Italian way! Aygul got to work and was not afraid of the power nail gun. We had a lot of tough women work very hard. Martini anyone? We are so excited to finally begin and thank you all who donated. Colleen Larson the production designer has an amazing design and is working hard with Director of Photography Kevin Tiesiera who is doing the lighting design. Jill Bencsits is our Art Director and a fellow Hungarian. Amy Mckenzie was on hand – she is our line producer. With our rediculous funraisers we were able to raise the budget to shoot the film. We do need to raise money for post. Please continue to support this project and watch it’s growth. If you haven’t given a monetary donation please consider doing so, we are so close to finishing help us get to our goal, a film that will play in major festivals and allow more women into the industry. Currently only 6% women are directing, not to mention how few work on films. Help us change that. I will be posting photos so you can follow the build, the shoot, the post — the good the bad the ugly!
Thank you for supporting THE AFI DWW short film THE D-MONSTER.

More Photo’s to come!
Love,
Kinga Suto (writer/director)
